Just before 8:00A.M. the Bridgeport Fire Department was operating at a fire alarm activation in a business on the 200 block of Dekalb Street. First arriving Bridgeport units reported a smoke condition inside the building and the response for the incident was upgraded. The confirmed building fire means that Engine 47-1 (King of Prussia Fire Co.) was alerted to respond as the Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.). The crew from Engine 47-1 operated as the R.I.T. for only 10 minutes while a small fire in the basement was extinguished by the Bridgeport units. The crew then assisted with ventilation and cleared the scene within 30 minutes.
