Around mid afternoon the King of Prussia Fire Company, along with the Valley Forge Fire Company, were dispatched for a vehicle accident with entrapment on Route 23 near the old Kennedy Supplee Restaurant. Lafayette ambulance personnel were on scene and originally reported two victims trapped, one in each car, in the two vehicle accident. One victim was partially ejected and pinned between their vehicle and the other involved in the accident. Members from Squad and Rescue 47 worked together using the 40”+ Jaws of Life spreaders to gap the distance between the two vehicles. Fire and EMS personnel were then able to remove the victim. The other victim was removed by fire and EMS personnel without the use of hydraulic tools. Both patients were transported to local hospitals and the KPVFC cleared the scene within an hour. The night continued with an outside wires emergency during the rainstorm as well as a cover assignment to the Hancock Fire Company in Norristown. While on the transfer Squad 47 responded to a fire alarm on DeKalb Street. Members from the cover assignment returned to quarters in time to join the company for weekly drill.
