Preston and Steve's Campout for Hunger

Sunday, November 25, 2012 The KPVFC has started their 4th annual food drive to help 93.3 WMMR Preston and Steve's Campout for Hunger. If you are not familiar, Preston and Steve are the morning show hosts during the week on 93.3 WMMR. For years they have camped out at the Metroplex in Plymouth Meeting where they collect food for Philabundance while broadcasting their show LIVE from the parking lot all week. This year the event is being held November 26th thru November 30th. The KPVFC collects food from our community to make one large donation to the food drive. The past few years the volunteers from KPVFC have also volunteered their time on the Wednesday night during the event to help unload other dropped off donations and transfer them to the awaiting trucks. Last year, KPVFC was able to donate close to 500 lbs of food. This year we will be making our donation and assisting their staff with loading the trucks on Wednesday the 28th.

Items that can always be used are:
Canned/ Shelf-stable tuna
Macaroni and Cheese
Canned Pasta
Canned Beef Stew
Canned Chili
Creamy Peanut Butter
Jelly
Canned Green Beans
Canned Corn
Canned Fruit
Breakfast Cereal and Hot Cereal

We are also willing to take cash donations or gift cards for local stores (Acme, Giant, Bottom Dollar, Wegmans, etc.) which will be used to purchase food items to donate. Item donations can be made by dropping them off at either KPVFC fire station, 170 Allendale Road or 300 W. Beidler Road. Monetary, gift card, or item donation arrangements and questions or information can be made by contacting Kevin Katarynick at vicepresident@kpvfc.com. Pet food donations are also accepted by Philabundance and can be delivered to the Upper Merion Township Library. For more information contact the Upper Merion Township Library or check them out on Facebook.
The members of KPVFC are thankful for your continued support of our organization and our events!
