On Monday, March 9th, the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to assist Lower Providence (Station 53) on a building fire located on the 400 block of N Park Ave. Tower 47 (Molchany) responded with six members on the 2nd alarm assignment. While en route to the staging area the truck was ordered into the scene and to set up on the alpha-delta corner for aerial operations. Once in place, water was supplied by an engine from Lower Providence in order to supply the bucket’s master streams. Chief 47 (Gallagher) also responded on the 2nd alarm and assisted 53-Command with accountability for the duration of the incident.
A few minutes after Tower 47 arrived, the fire was upgraded to a 3rd alarm assignment which brought Engine 47-1 (Griffith Jr) across the river as well. The engine was staffed with another six volunteers. Engine 47-1 remained in staging until it was released by 53-Command later in the evening.
