Shortly before 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 5th, the Volunteers from King of Prussia were summoned to respond to a vehicle accident, with a possible car on fire. The incident was located Eastbound on the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) just east of the route 202 ramps. After a daylong storm that dumped 10+ inches of snow on King of Prussia, the crew of Engine 47-1 (Camarda) marked up with a crew of 5 and made the slow but steady run to the incident scene. Upon arrival the crew found a single vehicle accident with an engine compartment well off. Crews placed the bumper line in service and quickly extinguishing the fire. Members found the vehicles driver wondering along the highway and directed him into a safe area during the operation. Engine 47-1 was backed up by Squad 48 (Swedeland) and traffic was controlled by Upper Merion PD while we awaited the arrival of the state police.
