On October 9, 2017, the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of W. Valley Forge Road and W. Beidler Road for a vehicle rescue. Chief 47 and Rescue 47 arrived simultaneously and found a two vehicle accident with one of the drivers entrapped. Chief 47 took incident command while Rescue 47 began stabilizing the vehicle. Squad 47 arrived and finished securing the vehicle’s battery, stretched a 1.75” hose line for fire
protection, and then assisted with the extrication. Rescue 47 and Squad 47 crews removed the entire driver side of the vehicle using Hurst hydraulic tools and assisted EMS with removing the patient. Engine 47-2 also made the response and provided additional manpower. Medic 317 treated and transported the patient to a local trauma center.
